Tech Talk – Clothing Printer

What if you never had to do laundry ever again? Or chose an apartment without taking clothes printerinto consideration the size of its closets? What if you never have to wear the same outfit twice? What if you could imagine an item of clothing push a button and it appears? Think this is far out? Not if industrial designer Joshua Harris has his way.

Harris’s latest project is the clothing printer. Part of this concept includes an online

Clothes printer 1marketplace for your favorite shops, allowing you to purchase the design for a desired piece of clothing. Designers can even sell specific fabrics and materials in cartridge form, allowing for premium printed clothing as well as the basics.

Clothes printer 2 This is the wow part in case you are not impressed enough.  After wearing a given piece, you can load the garment back into the printer where it is broken back down into thread and cleaned. The thread is returned to the cartridge it came from for future use. Great for the environment and totally green. Score! Look for this product to hit stores in 2050.

I can see Target lining up to stock these right now. Love me some Target but my money is on Amazon.

Comment time… So what do you make of the clothing printer? Will you be standing in line on black Friday to get yours at 20% off?
